Flea-Bitten Hipsters in Williamsburg

Friday, October 6, 2006

101.jpg Despite my usual apprehension about any establishment that dare speaketh the words "hipster haven" in reference to itself, the Artists & Fleas craft cooperative has won me over. Located in a warehouse on a not-particularly-commercial street in Williamsburg, the market is a great place to pick up unique and inexpensive wares of all kinds. Every weekend, the market features a live dj, as well as plenty of vendors selling artist print t-shirts, handmade jewelry, all manner of hipper-than-thou knitwear. In addition to being a great place to spend a little of your hard-earned cash, Artists & Fleas is also a place to earn some money. The community prides themself on being an easy way for artists of all types to build their business, without the hassle of leasing storefront space. Whether your goal is to buy or sell, Artists & Fleas is prime place to do it. But let's try not to use the H-word again, okay?
