WaPo's Best of Crabby DC: Jimmy Cantler's Riverside Inn

Thursday, August 17, 2006

crabs.jpg Jimmy Cantler is a bearded gnome-like creature who has the uncanny ability summon forth the area's best blue shelled crabs to meet their death, chelipeds spinning happily. His restaurant, the Riverside Inn in Annapolis, has the uncanny ability to attract Washingtonians from miles around, mandibles working themselves in eager anticipation. Cantler has been serving crabs, crab cakes, shell-on shrimp, and oysters, plucked straight from the bay for nigh on 30 years. But make sure to get there early as the earliest bird, in this case, gets the biggest crab.
