Dan Washburn, blogger of Shanghai Diaries and Shanghaiist fame, playing an inventor for a local infomercial. He supposedly invented an "electric device that exercises your facial muscles by using 'hi tech ti-golden prods' and an 'internal intelligent chip' that emits 'organism waves' and causes 'facial musicales aerobics.'" Of course he did not invent this ridiculous device, and in fact had his payment for the farce stolen out of his backpack, along with his notes about the experience. That is unfortunate. But for some reason, the photo above from the infomercial shoot just cracks me up. He was ordered by the director to arrive unshaven so that he would look like a "power man." I think the moment above is when he began discussing those organism waves.
UPDATE: Dan's posted a partial script of his lines from the informercial. Truly weird. Invoke the muscle energy!
