Ye Olde Thai Armani Suit Scam

Thursday, March 9, 2006

03092006.9.jpgFrom the man who brought you his tale being trapped in Cuba while destitute and without proper passport documentation, a truly embarrassing tale of getting rooked by one of the oldest, most crude scams in Bangkok: the discount Armani suit. Trust me, there never was and never will be a "government sale" on Armani suits incongruously shipped to Thailand for mass purchase by tourists. Even the actual brick-and-mortar tailor shops get constant complaints about shipped goods that never arrive or, if they do, turn out to be the most pro-forma attempt at counterfeits -- so anyone who wants to take you to a secret sale might be a leetle on the shady side. Save your money for tranny hookers, please.
