Elliot Bay Bookstore: Seattlerature

Monday, August 28, 2006

elliottbayout.jpgThe Elliot Bay bookstore in Pioneer square is wall to wall books. Wall to wall to wall and then several other wall books. The Strand of the West, Elliot Bay plays host to various visiting literary dignitaries: Dan Berger, Irvine Welsh and hottie Marisha Pessl were recent guests. With an extensive used book section and plenty of comfy chairs, the Elliot Bay is, if not the center, then a well-worn stop on Seattle's lefty literary circuit. Downstairs at the Elliot Bay Cafe, there's a charming area to read already purchased books and get a nice bite to eat or any manner of caffeinated beverage. Good books. Good soup. Go.
