Freret Street College Bars

Freret Street New Orleans.jpgThe Boot.jpgHurricane Katrina. It sucks, big time, and it has affected many of us in many different ways. Take the BoHan. Two weeks ago, he was an idle, care-free L.A. faggot, with a house, two dogs, and a rangy tomcat, living an enviable life on the beach. Then came Katrina, and N.Diddy, BoHan's niece, an evacuated college co-ed from New Orleans, was suddenly flung into his arms and into his home, to attend college in L.A., for the Fall Semester, at a minimum. "Hi Uncle BoHan", she cried upon arrival, as BoHan opened the door to his house. "Oh shit," BoHan thought - he was now the adoptive father of a 22-year old, hormone-pumped, blonde, brainy, beautiful, New Orleans-armored party chick. Life will never be the same. But things are cool now, at least in L.A. But upon seeing the pictures above, N.Diddy cried, and so did BoHan. So here is N.Diddy's first blogging post ever, after the jump. Bracketed italics belong to the editor - N. Diddy ain't met Bert Fields just yet, but she is on a crash-collision track.

"The Boot," on Freret Street in New Orleans, was arguably the most popular Uptown college bar for the Tulane and Loyola student crowds. It was famous for kicking off the typical NOLA weekend of debauchery with its "3 for 1" happy hour. It was where freshmen girls from around the country lived out their Coyote Ugly fantasies, dancing on the bar, while local pro athletes, like the former New Orleans Hornets starting point guard, Baron Davis, would keep the party going until sunrise. 24/7, the place was hoppin' at all hours. Snoop Dog's "Girls Gone Wild" bus fed upon the lost inhibitions of sorority girls each Mardi Gras (ed's note: we are in fucking trouble with the N.Diddy parental unit now). It isn't surprising that [a rather infamous young starlet] made a bee line straight to "The Boot," while filming [one of her movies in New Orleans] last spring [, so I heard from many others who were there]. They all got their kicks when she [allegedly and unsubstantiatedly] strode in with all her bodyguards, and sniffed [something] off the boxes of Bud till the wee hours of the morn. Across Freret Street from "The Boot" was "The Palms," which attracted the 21+ fake I.D. crowd. It aimed to be a bit more classy, and by classy, I mean more expensive (ed's note: in NOLA, that means a pitcher of PBR was at least $1 at "The Palms"). This cocktail bar's nightly happy hour didn't begin until 2 a.m. and lasted until 5 a.m. I was there when Jude Law and Sean Penn stopped in one night. All the starstruck sorority girls sipping on Taaka cosmos were trying to get the bar stool next to Jude, which I am sure annoyed him...as if!

I feel like I am leaving a few celebs out, but it isn't surprising me, and my liver can't remember. N.Diddy.

N.Diddy, whoa!!!! Should we rename you "Defamerette?" Stay tuned for more tales from the N.Diddy, and her BFF, AK47, as they attack L.A. this fall. Defend New Orleans!!! Bohan.
