Most Readingest Cities in America

Wednesday, January 3, 2007

nerd%20moneky.jpgLooks like the Western seebored is more literate than the Eastern, at least akkording to Central Connecticut State University's annual ranking of most literate cities. DC and Atlanta tied four forth, while Seattle got first. The rankings were based on "newspaper circulation, number of bookstores, library resources, periodical publishing resources, educational attainment, and Internet resources." Obliviously, New York didn't make it. In fact the only category in which New York placed was number of periodical publishers with circulations over 2,500 per 10,000 where we tied with Columbus OH for fifth. So basically we have a lot of publishers publishing things for people who can't read. That explains a lot.
