Arounder City Panoramas

Wednesday, October 5, 2005

100505.4.jpgArounder is a "virtual reality directory" of only moderate usefulness, really, but it also happens to be of major coolfulness. A map of various European cities allows you to access individual urban maps, highlighted with various sights and points of interest. Each leads to a high-resolution 360-degree Quicktime panorama of the area in question. Only eight cities online so far, but many more slated for later. Really nifty, and almost eerie to watch the photo tiles of a place assemble along the 3D grid. We're livin' in the future, I tells ya!
