Little Cream Books

122905.9.jpgThe Little Cream Books are published by Hong Kong-based "bespoke, luxury travel and destination events planner" Wanlilu Play. The company serves as upscale major domo in arranging worldwide excursions and events, charging a client-side fee as opposed to collecting commissions from travel vendors, like an agency. The Little Cream Books are not guides per se -- they're more like interesting design objects that contain brief, browse-worthy destination porn. Each wee book comes in a gift box and is indeed creamy white with a faux-felt finish. Inside, 26 destinations (A to Z) get a page's worth of details, typically featuring nearby resorts, restaurants, touring options, outing suggestions, etc. The three books currently extant are Cool Destinations, Powder (winter, skiing, etc.), and Goodwill (charitable or benevolent groups and their locales). The Little Creamies make for an intriguing curiosity, and speak well of the luxe services offered by Wanlilu Play, but they make better gifts than utilitarian references. Each may be had for $18; a set of three goes for $50.
