Grapeshisha: UAE & Dubai Resource

Monday, April 10, 2006

http://www.gridskipper.com/images/2006/04/04102006.15-thumb.jpgOne of the most excellent sites online regarding the UAE and Dubai in particular is Grapeshisha. Originally begun as an email newsletter (which still goes out regularly), the site has expanded to offer lots of general reference and guidance for Dubai and the rest of the UAE. Examples include the finer points of Arabic coffee etiquette, a list of recommended guidebooks, and a vital section on maps (including a link to the fantastic Dubai map detailed above -- click for larger popup -- from Arabian View). Grapeshisha also has a good blog, which among other things linked to this past weekend's article in the Observer on growing labor unrest in Dubai. Well worth exploring.
