When Irony and Sex Mix: 3rd Annual Porn Week

Monkeytown, the multi-screened multi-purposed venue in Brooklyn is hosting its third annual Porn Week. What makes this porn week than any other given week where you watch porn? Well first of all, it's with a bunch of hipsters (or dirty old men posing as hipsters) and secondly, the porn itself comes gussied up as post-feminist art. Take for example the stellar, albeit generically trashy Silver Lake Scenesters by Vena Virago a self-avowed post-feminist director. Or Margie Shnibbe's Pornstar Pets which involves a surprising lack of animal sex. All this to say, for the week before you have to endure the "not under my roof" puritanism of your parents, you can watch hipster girls get drilled with a bunch of pre-feminist dudes and post-feminists girls while munching on French toast Napoleon.
