Hotels

It looks like London’s Dorchester Hotel hasn’t exactly had good luck with its celebrity guests. Sunday night, Christian Bale allegedly assaulted his sister and mother at the hotel; it’s also where Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston called their relationship quits and where Michael Madsen trashed his room. Not to mention, Uma Thurman and Daryl Hannah had beef while staying there, while Michael Jackson spent his stay dressed up as Mickey Mouse. Yikes. [HC]

> Planes

planes062608.jpg“ITV2 is to launch its own celebrity-run airline for a reality show that will see 12 famous faces take on roles such as cabin crew and complaints handlers while real passengers pay to fly to destinations including Ibiza.” That’s right, folks, a celebrity-laden, air carrier-based reality series will soon hit a television near you. No celebrities have been confirmed yet, but you can be sure we’re staying tuned! Here's to hoping Paris and Nicole are on board. [Guardian]

Where will all the stars

celebritydestinations424.jpgWhere will all the stars be heading this summer? Heidi Klum prefers Sardinia to Ibiza, while Jerry Seinfeld, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker will most likely be spending some long summer days on the East End of Long Island, where they all have homes. Old standbys like St. Barts and Mykynos will no doubt see some action, while up-and-coming locales include Turkey's Turquoise Coast and Croatia's Dalmatian Coast. [MSNBC]

Wanna Hitch a Ride With Sean Penn?

seanpenncoachella424.jpg"The Dirty Hands Caravan" is a cross-country road trip that will involve nearly 300 people taking bio-diesel buses 1800 miles "in an effort to engage a new generation of activists." Sean Penn is apparently behind the whole adventure, but there's no word yet whether or not he'll actually be aboard one of the buses. The trip ends one week from Sunday in New Orleans; in exchange for food and board passengers are expected to lend a hand at various charitable endeavors along the way. In order to join in you have to fill out an application here.

Celebrity Owned Spots in NYC

celebrityownedspotsnyc42.jpgCelebrities crossing over into other creative pursuits are a dime a dozen. People like Lauren Conrad, Milla Jovovich, Sienna Miller, and Justin Timberlake all have clothing lines, and Scarlett Johansson and Zooey Deschanel are launching music careers. But even more common may be the celebrity turne restaurant or bar owner. This week brings the opening of both Robert De Niro's Ago and Bruce Willis' Bowery Wine & Co., but there are already loads of Big Apple spots where you can dine and drink thanks to a silver screen or pop star's entrepreneurial skills. LA: Famously Segregated or Segregatedly Famous?

skybar.jpgIn today's new from Los Angeles, MSNBC gives us the top 15 places to spot celebs. Celebrities, it turns out, can be spotted wherever money can be found. This fact is neither here nor there. You could go to the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Skybar at the Schragerific Mondrian Hotel (pictured) or Chateau Marmont. You can stake out a spot at the Laurel Canyon dog parl or the Rexall Drugs on Beverly Boulevard but who really wants to confront the "Should I Say Hi?" dilemma. The answer is always no and will leave you in deep regretful brooding, either one you choose. No what's more interesting is who you won't find at these 15 spots. The answer? The Poor. A recent study confirmed LA as the United States' most segregated city. The study, carried out by Wayne State scientists found that "more than two-thirds of L.A.-area residents live in neighborhoods that are solidly rich or poor." This is, according to the article, in part due to the large number of unskilled immigrants one the one hand and the uberrich Hollywooders on the other. I'm not sure, but if you catch Clooney over at the Chateau, why don't you ask him?
